Important Notice to All Patients and the Broader Community
Transition to Retirement – Clinical Neurodevelopmental Psychiatry
Please be advised that as of 27 June 2025, Dr. Torshizi will be retiring from all clinical work related to Neurodevelopmental Psychiatry, including the assessment, treatment, and advocacy of ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and related conditions and comorbidities.
All current patients with neurodevelopmental conditions under Dr. Torshizi’s care are strongly advised to booka final review appointment before 27 June 2025.
After 27 June 2025:
Dr Torshizi’s clinical practice will permanently be closed to all new and existing neurodevelopmental disorder patients.
For patients with neurodevelopmental disorders, no further appointments, communications, or administrative follow-ups (including care plans, reports, scripts, or forms) will be available or undertaken.
All relevant medical records of patients with neurodevelopmental disorders will be securely locked and archived in accordance with privacy and health record legislation.
After 27 June 2025, this clinic will no longer provide communication channels for patients with neurodevelopmental diagnoses.
Existing patients with neuodevelopmental disorders must obtain a new referral from their GP to a psychiatrist or clinic with relevant expertise.
One provider you may wish to consider is Melbourne Mental Health (MMH). MMH has experience in neurodevelopmental psychiatry and has agreed to accept referrals from this clinic. We have been advised that MMH requires all transitioning patients to undergo a fresh initial comprehensive assessment under Medicare Item 296. Their current fee for this service is $1,200, subject to change.
Ongoing Services After 27 June 2025– rTMS and ASD Research Participants Only
From 27 June 2025, Dr. Torshizi will ONLY see patients in the following two limited contexts at an extremely limited capacity. The retirement from Neurodevelopmental Psychiatry does not affect the following services:

Communication with the clinic:
Effective immediately, communications and correspondence with LocusPsych Interventional Psychiatry and Translational Research Hub will only be received via email at admin@drtorshizi.com.
The previous phone line and Fax number of LocusPsych are being permanently disconnected. While this process is underway, phone calls, voice messages left on the answering machine, and faxes are not monitored and will not receive a response.
